| The University of Delaware has been invited to join the prestigious Common Solutions Group (CSG), a consortium of select universities in the field of information technology.
Other members of the group include Yale, Harvard, Brown and Duke universities and the universities of Virginia and Wisconsin at Madison and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. According to Susan Foster, Information Technologies, this group of institutions are leaders in the use of technology on campus. The invitation to join CSG recognizes UD's prominence and excellence in the use of technology. "We are looking forward to working with the members to advance campus technology and work on projects of common interest," Foster said. Founded in 1994, CSC was formed to carry out a cooperative exploration of common solutions to technology issues in higher education and to create a common infrastructure and tool set required for the future of member institutions. The organization promotes interactive discussions of strategic technical issues; recruits individuals/institutions with strategic technical skills and vision and the ability to adopt common solutions on their campuses; identifies IT issues and addresses them; seeks to promote common IT solutions through influencing vendor products, standards and campus practice; and disseminates conclusions broadly. |
