Coach nets 200th career win

Lacrosse coach Bob Shillinglaw marked his 200th career victory when the Blue Hens defeated Hostra University, 8-7 in overtime on April 14. The Blue Hens, the defending America East conference champions, moved into first place, winning their ninth straight league game over two seasons.

Shillinglaw became just the seventh active National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I coach to reach this 200-win milestone. The 1999 U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association national Coach of the Year, Shillinglaw is now 200-178 in his 25th season overall, including a 22-year mark of 176-161 while at UD.

Shillinglaw, 47, is the winningest coach in Delaware's 51-year lacrosse history and his past accomplishments include coaching his 1984 and 1999 teams to NCAA Tournament appearances and leading his 1979 squad to a 13-2 mark and being named USILA "Coach of the Year."
