Sign up for plant workshop

Garden of Knowledge, a workshop on opportunities in the plant sciences field, will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, March 18, in Townsend Hall. Reservations are required.

The event is open to everyone with an interest in plants–high school students, returning adult students, persons in horticulture and gardeners–and who want to volunteer in their communities.

Topics will include how to become a master gardener, opportunities with the UD Botanic Gardens friends group and short courses on ornamental horticulture. There will be a discussion of options for undergraduate degrees in entomology, environmental soil science, landscape horticulture, plant protection, plant biology and general plant science for full-time, part-time or continuing education students.

Participants can chose from a variety of concurrent sessions, talk with experts, meet those involved in volunteer gardening organizations and take tours of the greenhouses and gardens.
