Nominations are due in March
for student achievement awards

Nominations are being sought for annual awards that recognize University students for scholastic excellence, volunteer service and leadership.

AAUW honor

The Newark Branch, American Association of University Women (AAUW) is seeking nominations for its annual award to an outstanding senior woman at the University of Delaware who will graduate in May 2000.

Principal criteria include academic achievement and leadership in volunteer service, not only on campus, but also for the greater Newark area or her home community.

Selection requires a minimum index of 3.25. A $100 award will be presented at the University on Honors Day, and the recipient will be recognized at the May 2000 meeting of the Newark Branch AAUW.

Printed applications and details are available in the Office of Women’s Affairs.

Completed applications are due in that office by March 22.

The recipient will be notified in April.

Seitz award

Nominations are due March 10 for the George and Margaret Collins Seitz Award presented annually at Honors Day ceremonies.

The award was established in 1956 and is presented to a freshman or sophomore student who has demonstrated unusual traits of fine character and who is likely in his or her succeeding years to exert influence on others in developing the same qualities.
