Research proposals due for
high-tech projects by March 31

The Delaware Research Partnership (DRP), established by the Delaware General Assembly in 1984 to stimulate high-technology research in the state, is seeking proposals for matched grants or contracts from private industry to conduct cooperative research with the University.

Under DRP procedures, a second group of proposals will be approved for fiscal year 2001 funding in the fall, and small Delaware companies are encouraged to be sponsors, although large companies and those out of state also are eligible.

UD applicants must have letters of intent to support research from industrial sponsors, and company contributions must be “new” money, not existing funding for research in progress.

Anyone with a potential industrial sponsor may submit a proposal to the Office of the Vice Provost for Research on or before March 31.

Guidelines and application forms are available from the research office or visit the web site at <www.udel.edu/OVPR/ internal/DRP.html>.
