Teresa Pensalfino distributes samples during a free pizza tryout, held Jan. 11 at the Trabant University Center. The University community was invited to try Buffalo wing-style pizza with Cajun marinade, chicken scampi pizza with roasted red peppers, Southwest pizza and vegetarian types of pizza crust breads, all provided by Rich's of Buffalo, N.Y. Among its food products, Rich's makes several kinds of dough, including pizza dough, which is then marinated with oil and different spices, according to Michael Joseph, account technical manager. "Pizza is the second favorite entree in the country, and holding a pizza fest was a good way to demonstrate our products to the University of Delaware," he said. Reactions were positive from the pizza pie eaters with comments ranging from "unusual combinations, like blue cheese and chicken that taste good" to a simple but eloquent: "I liked all the different pizzas." |
