New director appointed
at UD Wellness Center

Marianne Carter has recently been named director of the Employee Wellness Center. Carter is a registered dietitian with a bachelor's degree in dietetics from UD in 1980 and a master's degree in health education from St. Joseph's University. She has worked at the University for four years. Carter is the author of the biweekly News Journal column, "Ask the Nutritionist," which has run since January 1996. UD's Wellness Center provides health promotion services for the University's 3,500 employees. As part of a new initiative, wellness services also are being contracted out to local businesses.
