Three strong-arm robberies on or near campus were reported this last weekend, Oct. 30-31, to police. In each case, victims were approached by a group of four-five males who demanded money and threatened or committed an assault on the victims.
The suspects include white, black and Hispanic males believed to be driving a dark gray or black hatchback car, possibly a Volkswagen. The license plate is unknown.
The incidents currently are under investigation by UD and Newark Police. Anyone with information is urged to contact University Police at 831-2224.
Members of the campus community are urged to be aware of their surroundings when walking and, whenever possible, to walk with another person on well-traveled paths. Public Safety offers a walking escort for persons on campus during hours of darkness.
Emergency blue light phones can be used to request this service or to report suspicious persons or vehicles.
