What's Happening


Lane closures on Kirkwood Highway near the V.A. Hospital

The left lane of both eastbound and westbound Kirkwood Highway near the Veterans Administration Hospital will be closed beginning Friday. The Delaware Department of Transportation informs motorists that the inside lane in both directions will be closed for about three weeks as a new deck is put on a bridge on Kirkwood Highway just east of the entrance to the V.A. Hospital. Later phases of the deck replacement will result in right lane closures at the bridge.


'Candida' performances scheduled

The Professional Theater Training Program at the University of Delaware will be performing George Bernard Shaw's comedy, "Candida," Oct. 31 through Nov. 4 with two additional performances scheduled for Feb. 8 and 17. All performances will take place in Hartshorn Hall, Academy Street and East Park Place, Newark.


Blood drive set Oct. 30-31

The Blood Bank of Delaware will be visiting the University of Delaware from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 30-31, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.

Bach's Lunch series returns for fall semester
International films offered Sundays in Trabant Theatre
UD's Fall 2001 International Film Series will feature topics ranging from a young boy dealing with the death of a friend to a nurse in a psychiatric hospital befriended by a low-level crook. All of the 35-mm films in the free public series are scheduled at 7:30 p.m., Sundays, in the Trabant University Center Theatre.
