Zerenner will be responsible for the direction and operation of general accounting and financial controls, financial analysis and reporting, financial information systems, the long-term debt portfolio, overhead cost calculations and management of a variety of other financial services.

Christine Cook, assistant provost for research management and operations and chairperson of the search committee, said, “The search committee reviewed many highly qualified applicants. Ms. Zerenner has 16 years of public accounting experience, providing various accounting, audit and managerial services to a diverse client base. Her experiences will enable the University to continue to be proactive in identifying and implementing higher education tax and audit changes.”
A Certified Public Accountant, Zerenner has served as senior manager of KPMG LLP (U.S.), where she has been in charge of planning, supervising and performing all aspects of assurance services for public and private companies, governmental entities and educational institutions. She has worked with a broad client base ranging from consumer and industrial market companies to state agencies, a university and a state retirement system and has assisted companies with complex accounting issues and guided clients through public stock and debt offerings.
Zerenner is a 1991 graduate of UD's Lerner College of Business and Economics, with a bachelor of science in accounting magna cum laude.
