Seminar on targets to kill cancer stem cells set Thursday

2:40 p.m., July 8, 2008--UD's Department of Biological Sciences is offering a special seminar on killing cancer stem cells at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, in Room 318 Wolf Hall.

The seminar, “Phenomenon of Metakaryotic Stem Cells in Metazoa Suggests Specific Targets to Kill Cancer Stem Cells,” will feature guest speakers William G. Thilly, professor of biological engineering, and Elena V. Gostjeva, assistant professor of biological engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The seminar will be moderated by Bruce M. Boman, director of cancer genetics and stem cell biology at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center of the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Del.
