3:16 p.m., July 16, 2008--The University of Delaware Community Music School will present a free ragtime concert at 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, in the Puglisi Orchestra Hall of the Louise and David Roselle Center for the Arts.

The concert will feature world-renowned xylophonist Bob Becker, Harvey Price, assistant professor of music at UD, and members of the sixth annual Bob Becker Ragtime Xylophone Institute, being held this year from July 28-Aug. 2 at UD. Participants in the institute travel from all over the world to work on the art of ragtime xylophone interpretation and improvisation.

Becker is generally considered to be one of the world's premier virtuoso performers on the xylophone and marimba. He also is a founding member of the percussion ensemble Nexus.
