Part of the Master Gardeners' Demonstration Garden, the Children's Garden encourages youngsters to get their hands dirty in planting soil. Young gardeners and their families also can watch caterpillars dine in high style at the Caterpillar Café and can mingle with butterflies as they flutter near their favorite flowers.
Teepees planted with gourds and vines are another attraction for young explorers, and kids can touch fuzzy lamb's ears and check out the aromas produced by various leaves and flowers.
In addition, “A Day in the Garden” will feature horticulture demonstrations and offer advice to adult gardeners. Approximately 25 Master Gardeners will be present to answer questions, examine ailing plants and share their love of horticulture.
