Commencement on May 31 to be Webcast live

3:11 p.m., May 29, 2008--Cal Ripken Jr., a Hall of Fame player who, as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, broke Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games played, will speak at the University of Delaware's 159th Commencement exercises, scheduled at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 31, in Delaware Stadium on the Newark campus.

The outdoor ceremony, which is held rain or shine, is open to the public.

Persons planning to attend Commencement are urged to arrive early, since there is a considerable amount of traffic congestion connected with this ceremony.

UD shuttle buses will provide one-way transportation to Delaware Stadium starting at 7:15 a.m., Saturday. For more information, visit [www.udel.edu/bus] or call (302) 831-1187.

In case of inclement weather, car-pooling is advised because fewer parking spaces will be available.

All individuals and items entering Delaware Stadium will be subject to search, and coolers, glass containers, umbrellas and large bags will not be permitted in Delaware Stadium.
