'Philosophy Talk' taping set Friday at Roselle
UD philosopher Richard Hanley’s book South Park and Philosophy celebrates the show's capacity for confronting issues that make most viewers uncomfortable.
2:17 p.m., May 14, 2008--A taping of the nationally syndicated weekly radio show Philosophy Talk will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, May 16, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.

Hosts Ken Taylor and John Perry of Stanford University will discuss the topic “Philosophy and Pop Culture: From Socrates to South Park” with Richard Hanley, UD associate professor of philosophy.

A reception will be held in the lobby of the Roselle Center for the Arts beginning at 4:15 p.m. and the doors of Gore Recital Hall will open for seating at 4:45 p.m. The audience will be invited to ask questions.

Taylor is professor and chairperson of the Stanford Department of Philosophy and Perry is the Henry Waldgrave Stuart professor of Philosophy at Stanford. For more information about Philosophy Talk, see the Web site [www.philosophytalk.org].
