4:39 p.m., May 31, 2008--University of Delaware senior track and field standout Asha Quant finished 24th in the long jump on Friday afternoon at the NCAA East Regional meet held at Florida State University's Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla.

After fouling on her first attempt Friday, Quant jumped 16 feet, 8.75 inches on her second attempt and 18 eet, 1 inch on her final attempt.

Quant was among 30 competitors in the NCAA East Regional long jump competition. She became the first UD student-athlete to compete at regionals since pole vaulter Casey Bennett in 2005.
