- UD Faculty Senate Meeting, March 2. The University Faculty Senate acts for the entire faculty in coordinating faculty governance at the University of Delaware and in exercising the faculty's responsibilities for the education and care of students;
- "Sidewalks and Shared-Use Paths: Improving Mobility and Designing Transit-Ready Communities--Maintenance Issues and Funding,” Feb. 21. Hosted by UD's Institute for Public Administration as part of a continuing forum, this lecture features speakers Lorene Athey from UD and Robert Garrett from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; and
- "International Politics of Climate Change: Global Agenda 2008--Boiling Point: Creating a Climate for Political Action,” Feb. 27. UD's members of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)--John Byrne, director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, and Frederick “Fritz” Nelson, head of UD's Permafrost Group, joined by geographer and senior policy fellow Yda Schreuder, explore the science and the politics of the IPCC, as well as equity issues facing policy makers attempting to make use of the panel's conclusions. The talk is the first in the semester-long Global Agenda series organized and moderated by Ralph Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication and Distinguished Journalist in Residence.
