Organized by UD's department of art history, sessions will focus on themes of place, motion and identity, and speakers will include art scholars from the University of Delaware, the University of Virginia, Columbia University, Fordham University, Carleton University, the University of Notre Dame, the Université Laval, the National University of Ireland and the Universidad Nacional Aut—noma de México.
Shared research will explore how ethnicity, geography and commerce shaped the material life of early North America and discussion periods will allow symposium participants to exchange ideas.
All sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is required by Friday, April 11.
