Stony Brook downs UD 19-16 in men’s lacrosse
UD sophomore attack Curtis Dickson had five goals in the loss to Stony Brook.
8:36 a.m., March 17, 2008--The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team lost its second straight game, falling 19-16 to Stony Brook University in a game played Saturday evening at Rullo Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens fell 18-10 at Georgetown University on Wednesday, and are now 5-2 on the season.

The game against Stony Brook featured two of the nation's top offenses and was a high-scoring affair, with freshman attack Jordan McBride of the Seawolves scoring 10 goals and adding two assists against the Hens. Delaware had not allowed 19 goals in a game since 1999, when the Hens lost to top-ranked Loyola College.

UD sophomore attack Curtis Dickson had five goals, increasing his NCAA-leading total to 24. He also extended his goal-scoring streak to 15 games. Martin Cahill had three goals and one assist, Cam Howard had one goal and three assists and Vincent Giordano had three assists.

Also scoring for the Hens were Sean Kostkowski, Anthony Ruiz, Drew Turner, Beau Davis, Kyle Rotelli, J.J. Moran and D.J. Widlake.

UD goalkeeper Tom Scherr had 10 saves.

The Blue Hens will return to action with a Colonial Athletic Association game against Villanova University at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 22, at Rullo Stadium. The Wildcats are 1-5 and are coming off a 9-8 loss to Lehigh University.
