3:48 p.m., March 13, 2008--Vincenza Carrieri-Russo, Miss Delaware USA 2008, will appear at UD's public skating session from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, March 16, at the Fred Rust Ice Arena. She will be collecting books for Success Won't Wait, the charity she co-founded.

Success Won't Wait is a not-for-profit literacy program that seeks to encourage reading, particularly by children. Volunteers organize statewide book drives and donate used books to schools, libraries, community gathering spots and American soldiers in Iraq. To date, the program has collected and distributed more than 100,000 books.

Students, faculty, and community members are asked to bring a new or gently used book to the skating session to donate to the organization. Each donor will receive a coupon for $1 off admission to the ice arena and $1 off a skate rental.
