Renewable energy feature of April 20 Hagley event

2:49 p.m., March 18, 2008--Three UD-based groups working on promoting renewable and alternative forms of energy have been invited by the Hagley Museum in Wilmington, Del., to present their work at the “Power Up Hagley: Energy Fun for Everyone” day on Sunday, April 20.

The three groups, UD's Solar Power program, the Department of Mechanical Engineering's fuel cell bus and the electric car initiative and the National Science Foundation-funded Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) in Solar Hydrogen program at UD all will share their vision at this year's daylong family event held annually on the museum grounds in Wilmington.

Presentations by the groups will include tables with displays and demonstrations, as well as some hands-on activities for families who attend. Members of each group also will speak about their work on promoting sustainable energy.
