1:08 p.m., March 24, 2008--From 4-9 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 14 downtown Newark restaurants will open their doors to 24 fine wineries in celebration of spring, food, wine and fun at Newark's fourth annual “Wine and Dine Downtown” festival.

Besides highlighting the unique offerings of fine wineries, the restaurants will serve as classrooms for those interested in learning more about wines. Restaurants also will fashion their night's specials based on their featured wines and focus on how wine can influence a meal's flavor.

The event is sponsored by the Downtown Newark Partnership. No tickets are necessary and participants pay as they go.
