Philadelphia KiXX draft UD’s Sobhan Tadjalli
UD’s Sobhan Tadjalli has been drafted by the Philadelphia KiXX soccer team.
9:43 a.m., Jan. 31, 2008--University of Delaware men's soccer standout Sobhan Tadjalli was selected in the third round as the 34th pick overall by the Philadelphia KiXX in this week's Major Indoor Soccer League draft.

Tadjalli, a native of Hockessin, Del., who also starred at A.I. du Pont High School, was one of five players drafted by the KiXX, the defending MISL champions. The team, now in its 12th season of competition, is led by player-coach Don D'Ambra and plays its game at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

A four-year letter winner, Tadjalli is Delaware's ninth all-time leading goal-scorer with 23, including nine during the 2006 season when he led the team in scoring and earned second team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors. He played in 77 career games with 59 starts and recorded 54 points on 23 goals and nine assists. He scored a UD freshman single season record 11 goals in 2004 when he was named the CAA Rookie of the Year and was a first team All-CAA selection. He is a senior biological sciences major with a minor in leadership.

The KiXX selected University of Pennsylvania midfielder Derek Hobson for its territorial selection and followed by taking Monmouth forward Damon Wilson in the first round, Quinnipiac midfielder Danilo Schiavon in the second round, Tadjalli in the third round and Buffalo forward Dan Stevens in the fourth round.
