Caitlin Zadek, a UD student, was featured in a Feb. 1 Los Angeles Times story about women voters and the Democratic presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Also quoted were three other students, Katie Ayash, Renee Legare and Kimberly Mesceda.
William Saylor, professor of animal and food sciences, was featured in a Feb. 1 Ivanhoe Broadcast News Discoveries and Breakthroughs Inside Science story about chicken feed that reduces waste and is helpful to the environment.
James Corbett, associate professor of marine and earth studies, was quoted in a Jan. 31 Gloucester (Mass.) Daily Times story about concerns over ship emissions.
John Antil, associate professor of business administration, was featured in a Jan. 31 News Journal story about his work in the study of Super Bowl advertising.
Joseph Pika, professor of political science and international relations, was quoted in a Jan. 31 Associated Press story about the Delaware primary election ballot.
Alan C. Kessler, a UD alumnus, was cited in a Jan. 31 Philadelphia Inquirer story as the newly elected chairperson of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors. Kessler, a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen, was appointed to the board in 2000 by President Bill Clinton. He graduated from UD in 1972, receiving a bachelor's degree in political science with honors.
Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a Jan. 29 Washington Post story about the selection of a new chief executive officer at Legg Mason. Elson also was quoted in a Jan. 29 Bloomberg News story about a rise in IAC shares in trading on speculation over a change in control.
Ivan Sun, associate professor of sociology, was quoted in a Jan. 28 News Journal story about how residents in parts of Wilmington are paralyzed by fear of crime.
