10:11 a.m., Feb. 19, 2008--IT-User Services and the University of Delaware Library are sponsoring a new series of classes to help students, faculty and staff get started with commonly used multimedia equipment and video editing software.
Each session, lasting just an hour, provides an opportunity to learn the basics of multimedia and to explore what the Student Multimedia Design Center has to offer. Register for one or all three of the “Getting Started with Multimedia” series. Both afternoon and evening sessions are scheduled. Each participant will receive a free gift.
Getting started with multimedia equipment: Frame it, mic it, light it--Beginning the week of Feb. 17, these sessions explain how to use a video camera, external microphones and lighting kits to ensure your raw video is top notch.
Capturing and editing video--Running the week of Feb. 25, the second group of sessions in the series steps you through video capturing and editing using either Movie Maker for Windows or iMovie for the Mac.
Getting started with podcasting--Starting March 3, the third group of sessions covers how to create a podcast using Photostory 3 for Windows or Garageband for the Mac.
