Feb. 26, 2008--Bertha E. Galea

Bertha “Beth” Burns Galea, 44, of Newark, Del., died Feb. 20.

Mrs. Galea was employed for several years as a bus driver with the University of Delaware and the Christina School District.

She participated in bus rodeo competitions and won first, second and third places in Delaware and also competed nationally.

Mrs. Galea was a member of the V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary 8175 in Elkton, Md. She enjoyed baking peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, gardening and her two dogs, Pumpkin and Lucky.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph, sisters Terry Dawson and her companion David Simpler, Geraldine Hall, Carol Lloyd and her husband Bill; a stepdaughter, Rosemarie Nichole Galea; a stepbrother, David Gill; nieces Karen Davis and Mary McLennan; and nephews Jim Dawson and Harry Hall. Mrs. Galea was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Frances Burns Jr.; a stepmother, Ethel Burns; and nephews David Dawson and Mark Thompson.

A visitation was held Feb. 25 at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home in Newark. A service in celebration of Mrs. Galea's life was held Feb. 26 at the funeral home. Burial was at Gilpin Manor Memorial Park in Elkton. Visit [http://www.strano-feeley.com] to express condolences.
