Summer Faculty Institute applications due Feb. 24

4:11 p.m., Feb. 12, 2008--The application deadline to participate in the week-long Summer Faculty Institute is Monday, Feb. 24.

The free, on-campus institute is an excellent professional development opportunity for both new and veteran faculty. This summer, the institute's theme is making connections between technology and teaching and learning.

Thirty participants, who are willing to make a week-long commitment to the program, will be selected based on applications that best meet the criteria of the institute. The selected participants will receive a technology bundle that includes:

  • The choice of an Apple MacBook Pro or Gateway Tablet PC, each with accessories and software;
  • An opportunity to work on a project of their own choosing;
  • A cohort of colleagues from the entire campus; and
  • Exceptionally good lunches all week long.

The institute will be held June 2-6 in Memorial Hall. Based on the applications accepted, objectives will be set and sessions will be planned to ensure that everyone's needs are addressed.
