Blood drive slated for Thursday at Trabant

1:48 p.m., Feb. 12, 2008--While Valentine's Day is a day to give flowers, chocolates and love, it also is a great day to give the gift of life by giving blood.

Be a hero and become a blood donor during the first UD blood drive of the spring semester sponsored by the Blood Bank of Delmarva from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.

The event is sponsored by Sigma Alpha Mu, Kappa Sigma, Beta Beta Beta, Lambda Chi and Pi Kappa Phi.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Participants are encouraged to eat a good meal within three hours of donating. Walk-ins will be taken as time allows.

Multiple patients may receive parts of your blood donation, and one donation can save up to three lives, so show you care by being there.
