Police investigate robbery on Main Street
3:01 p.m., Aug. 27, 2007--Newark Police are investigating the robbery of a 27-year-old man that occurred around 9:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 27, around the 200 block of East Main Street in Newark.

The man was walking in the parking lot of a Main Street business when he was approached from behind by a man who placed what the victim thought was a gun against his back and ordered the victim to hand over his property. The man complied and gave the suspect property, including his wallet. The suspect fled southbound from East Main Street into George Reed Village. The victim was not injured.

A Delaware State Police K9 unit assisted and traced the suspect through the neighborhood until the scent was lost on a nearby street.

The suspect is described as 24-30 years of ages, about 6 feet tall, with a thin build and dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jean shorts, a red baseball hat and a backpack.
