11:41 a.m., April 8, 2008--Kevin M. Burke, the president and chief executive officer of the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), will give a lecture on “The Global Impact of Getting Dressed” at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 24, the Trabant University Center Theatre.
The talk will address the fact that the clothes most Americans wear come from various places all over the globe. The average person might have on a shirt from Vietnam, jeans from South America and shoes from China.
Burke also will talk about how the future of apparel and footwear industries is inherently linked to international trade growth and discuss the diverse issues facing the global, dynamic apparel and footwear industries and their supporting industries.
