Records analyst honored as HR Liaison
Margaret Brumit
3:28 p.m., April 11, 2008--Margaret Brumit, a records analyst and coordinator in UD's Office Of Institutional Research and Planning, was greeted with a bouquet of red roses and congratulations from colleagues when she arrived at work Tuesday morning, April 8, to the news that she'd been selected as this quarter's HR Liaison.

“It made my day,” Brumit said. “I'm not any better than anyone else, but having someone say 'Thank you' is very rewarding.”

Brumit said that her primary job responsibilities include doing the office accounting, routing academic program reviews and assisting with the state budget preparations, but she emphasized that the most rewarding part of her job is assisting others.

“I really enjoy helping people,” she said, “and I'm a 'behind-the-scenes' type of person who avoids the limelight.”

Showing that side even as the spotlight shines on her, Brumit added that she appreciates the help that HR liaisons get from the Office of Human Resources.” She also credited her immediate supervisor and colleagues for their daily support.

“I have a good person backing me and wonderful colleagues,” Brumit said.

A records analyst and coordinator in institutional research and planning since beginning her employment at UD seven years ago, Brumit also is working toward her associate's degree at the University via online and evening courses.
