Police investigate April 22 home invasion

10:44 a.m., May 4, 2007--Newark Police are investigating a home invasion in the 100 block of Elkton Road that occurred at the residence of four UD students at 11 p.m., Sunday, April 22.

A student said he answered a knock at the door and discovered three men, one armed with a shotgun, who entered the residence and secured the four students who lived there. They robbed each of the four people, removed items from the residence and demanded cash from the owner.

When the homeowner could not produce cash, the suspects drove him, against his will, to an undisclosed location where he could obtain cash. He was able to escape and called police.

The suspects, three men and a woman, were driving a dark colored Ford Crown Victoria. One suspect was about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and wore a long goatee, another was 5 feet, 9 inches tall and the third was 6 feet, 2 inches tall. The woman had long wavy hair.
