Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a March 2 Reuters story about Texas power company TXU Corp. and in Feb. 28 and Feb. 24 Wall Street Journal stories about Wal-Mart and about the president of Stanford University and his outside business interests. Elson also was quoted in two Feb. 27 Associated Press stories on the new chief executive officer of WellPoint and a stock options warning sounded by the Delaware Court of Chancery, and in a Feb. 27 Providence (R.I.) Journal story on the CVS-Caremark merger.

Sam Lemheney, a UD alumnus, was quoted in a March 2 Philadelphia Inquirer story about the famed Philadelphia Flower Show, for which he is design director.

Kimmie Meissner, world and national champion who competes for the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club, was featured widely following a Feb. 28 press conference at the Fred Rust Ice Arena that drew more than 30 media representatives from the Philadelphia and Baltimore metropolitan areas.

Ed Kee, vegetable crops specialist for UD's Cooperative Extension Service and author of the book Saving Our Harvest: The Story of the Mid-Atlantic Region's Canning and Freezing Industry, was quoted in a March 1 Cherry Hill (N.J.) Courier-Post story about Violet Packing Co., the only tomato processor still operating in the region.

Karen Rucker, director of UD's Early Learning Center, was quoted in a Feb. 28 Metro Kids story about child care regulations in the region.

James Butkiewicz, professor of economics, was quoted in a Feb. 28 News Journal story on financial advice in the wake of a major stock market sell-off.

Pei Chui, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, Yan Jin, professor of environmental soil physics, and Kali Kniel, assistant professor of animals and food sciences, were featured in a Feb. 27 United Press International story about research on a new means to remove harmful microorganisms from drinking water. Stories also are planned by National Public Radio and Art Fennell Reports on Comcast CN8. Also, a UD press release on their work has received much attention and has appeared on many web sites, including Innovations Report, Water and Wastewater, Water Online, Biology News Net, Water Technology Online and Earthtimes.

Natalie Gempesaw-Pangan, a UD senior, was featured in a Feb. 27 Delaware Online story about her work to organize eating disorder awareness events on campus.

Pamela Leland, associate professor of urban affairs, was quoted in a Feb. 26 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story about that city's revenue relationship with nonprofit organizations.

Paul Quinn, professor of psychology, Roberta Michnick Golinkoff, H. Rodney Sharp Chair in Human Services, Education and Public Policy, and James C. “Cole” Galloway, associate professor of physical therapy, were featured in a Feb. 26 News Journal story about babies and research.
