Art Trembanis, assistant professor of geological sciences, was quoted in a March 9 Delaware State News story about a conference on coastal storms held by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, the Delaware Sea Grant College Program and the City of Rehoboth Beach.

Wendy Carey, coastal processes specialist for the UD Sea Grant Marine Advisory Service, was quoted in a March 9 News Journal story on the same conference, which also marked the 45th anniversary of the devastating March 1962 storm.

Muqtedar Khan, assistant professor of political science and international relations, wrote of a new American tradition in Islamic thinking in an opinion piece in the March 9 News Journal.

Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a March 8 New York Times story about Take-Two shareholders, in a March 8 San Francisco Chronicle story about Hewlett-Packard, in a March 7 Kansas City Star story about executives at Sprint Nextel forfeiting funds for poor corporate performance and a March 6 Financial Post (Canada) story about activist institutional investors.

Jeremy Firestone, marine policy scientist in the College of Marine and Earth Studies, was quoted in a March 7 Houston Chronicle story about wind power.

Jingguang Chen, professor of chemical engineering and director of UD's Center for Catalytic Science and Technology, and Brian Willis, assistant professor of chemical engineering, were featured in a March 8 News Journal story about a major Department of Energy grant to support fuel cell research.

Mark Deshon, assistant policy scientist in the Institute for Public Administration, was quoted in a March 7 Bethany Wave story about the state's small towns going high-tech.

Dave DeWalt, a 1986 graduate of UD, has been named chief executive officer and president of McAfee Inc., it was reported in the March 6 Wall Street Journal.

Ben Patrick, tight end for the 2006 Fightin' Blue Hens football team, was quoted in a March 5 Sports Illustrated story about football players training in advance of the National Football League draft. The story also included an image of Patrick, who was one of only three Colonial Athletic Association players invited to the NFL scouting combine.

Deni S. Galileo, associate professor of biological sciences, was a guest on WILM-AM Newstalk on March 5 to discuss the use of stem cells in research and pending state legislation.

Diane Henker, assistant director at the Center for International Studies, was quoted in a March 5 News Journal story on the Peace Corps.

Ben Yagoda, professor of English, wrote a review of the book Faking It: The Quest for Authenticity in Popular Music in the March 4 New York Times.

Louis Hirsh, director of admissions, was quoted in a March 4 Bergen (N.J.) Record story about college admissions.

The UD Professional Theatre Training Program's production of Bertolt Brecht's The Life of Galileo earned a strong review by Tom Butler in the March 4 News Journal.

Dewey M. Caron, professor of entomology and wildlife ecology, was quoted in a March 4 Philadelphia Inquirer story on the annual meeting of the Chester County Beekeepers Association. He discussed the rapid decline of bee colonies due to disease.
