Workshop on offshore wind power set Feb. 16

12:43 p.m., Feb. 8, 2007--The University of Delaware's College of Marine and Earth Studies will hold a workshop, "Offshore Wind Power for Delaware," to provide expert information on wind power issues, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at the Sheraton Dover Hotel, 1570 North Dupont Highway, Dover.

The workshop, which will open with a poster session at 12:30 p.m., is free and open to the public, Delaware businesses and local officials.

Funded by the Delaware Energy Office, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Delaware Sea Grant College Program, the workshop will bring in experts from the region, the U.S. federal government and Europe to discuss the resource, law and technology, as well as the long-term prospects of wind power technologies and environmental impact.

Those who plan to attend the workshop should send an e-mail to [mbalgos@udel.edu]. For more information, call Jackie Piero at (302) 831-4665.
