Talk on Italian women writers set Nov. 17

4:52 p.m., Nov. 15, 2005--Laura Salsini, UD associate professor of foreign languages and literatures, will discuss “She’s Got Mail: Italian Women Writers Address the Letter Text” at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov.17, in 116 Gore Hall.

Salsini will discuss Oriana Fallaci’s Letter to a Child Never Born, Dacia Maraini’s Letters to Marina, and the use of traditional letter writing by 20th-Century authors, writers and journalists.

Sponsored by the Women’s Studies Program, the event is free and open to the UD community.

Salsini is the author of Gendered Genres: Female Experiences and Narrative Patterns in the Works of Matilde Serao, as well as articles on 19th and 20th-Century Italian and Italian-American literature and film.
