11:41 a.m., Nov. 9, 2005--Recent alumnae from UD’s Master of Fine Arts in photography program are well represented at “Biggs Shot: Juried Photography Exhibition,” on display until Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Sewell C. Biggs Museum of Art in the Delaware State Visitors Center in Dover.

“Biggs Shot” features works by dozens of professional and amateur photographers from the Greater Delmarva Peninsula in the changing exhibitions gallery. Admission to the museum is free.

Best of Show awards went to alums Rebecca Dietz, who teaches photography at UD, for "Patterns of Freefall #12," Vicki Kelch for "Old Havana in the Rain," and Christine Shanks, who currently teaches at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, for "Driving Through 1."

‘Lunch at the Korner Diner,’ toned gelatin print, by Nancy Breslin
Grad student Jan Makowski won an honorable mention for an untitled photograph in her “Women Behind Branches” series, and alum Nancy Breslin, who teaches photography at UD, also had work accepted for the exhibition.

A reception for “Biggs Shot” and for the “Delaware Watercolor Society: Juried Exhibition,” also being held at the Biggs Museum, will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9. Cost for the reception is $10 (or $8 for museum members), and reservations may be made by calling (302)-674-2111.
