UD's Zukowski wins bronze at Worlds

Christine Zukowski of the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club.
9 a.m., March 10, 2006--Christine Zukowski of the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club won the bronze medal in the ladies competition on Thursday at the 2006 World Junior Championships, which are being held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Yu-Na Kim of Korea won the gold with 177.54 points and Mao Asada of Japan won the silver with 153.35 points. Zukowski took the bronze with 135.14 points, finishing just ahead of Nana Takeda and Aki Sawada, both of Japan.

Today, UD's Geoff Varner will compete in the men's short program. Earlier this week, Bridget Namiotka and John Coughlin finished fourth in the pairs competition.
