Violist Victoria Chiang in concert Friday

10:14 a.m., March 8, 2006--Victoria Chiang, world-renowned violist, will present a free master class at 1:25 p.m., Friday, March 10, in the Loudis Recital Hall, of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. She also will give a recital that night at 8 p.m. in Loudis Recital Hall. The class and recital are presented by UD's Department of Music.

Chiang is a member of the artistic faculty at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and an artist with the Aspen Music Festival. She has given master classes throughout the world and has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and recitalist through the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Chiang is a founding member of the Aspen Ensemble, a quintet of flute, piano and strings.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or the Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
