Tropical barbeque warms UD students
1:48 p.m., March 31, 2006--Thatched huts, swaying palm trees, beaches with ice cream sand castles, seashells, starfish and tropical plants greeted students at Pencader Dining Hall on Wednesday, March 22, compliments of UD Dining Services. It was all part of Tropical Barbeque Night at Pencader, which was captured in photos that can be viewed at [www.udel.edu/dining]. Along with Pencader's ice sculptures, live goldfish pond, smoothie Tiki bar and Karaoke, came edible tributes to the tropics. Being served at Pencader and all the dining halls were chilled strawberry peach soup, tropical fruit platter with pineapple yogurt dip, shrimp, corn and potato chowder, island port loin, Jamaican jerk chicken and pan fried black bean cakes with tropical fruit and for dessert, Macadamia white chocolate cookies, coconut cream pie and pineapple upside down cake. |
