Stetson University tops Blue Hen tennis teams

10:56 a.m., March 30, 2006--Host Stetson University won 16 of the 18 matches to sweep the University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams on Wednesday afternoon. The Stetson men's team won 7-0 and the women's team won 5-2, as UD completed its annual spring trip to Florida.

Winning matches for UD were Susan Pollack, who earned a 6-7 (6-7), 6-4, 10-8 victory over Mila Milovanovic at No. 1 singles, and Brittany Barsky, who was 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 10-4 winner over Mary Mollman at No. 6 singles. Pollack improved to 11-4 on the season, while Barsky improved to 11-1 on the year with her third straight victory.

In other women's matches, Marina Levin defeated UD's Amanda Campbell at No. 2, Anna Leoneuko defeated Liz Perlow at No. 3, Catherine Canady defeated Sari Shuster at No. 4, and Samantha Lauge defeated Alexa Dragonette at No. 5. In doubles, Milovanovic and Levin downed Pollack and Campbell at No. 1, Leoneuko and Canady defeated Dragonette and Barsky at No. 2, and Lauge and Mollman defeated Shuster and Julie Schiller at No. 3.

In the men's matches, Marcus Echtler defeated Nolan Greenberg at No. 1, Joey Jones defeated Adam Liebman at No. 2, Mario Alberto Cayo defeated Josh Ditman at No. 3, Binger Soloand defeated Jon Schwartz at No. 4, Eddie Majcher defeated Josh Levine at No. 5, and Peter Duzoua defeated Phil Wayne at No. 6. In doubles, Serguei Boulanov and Echtler defeated Jesse Carl and Greenberg at No. 1, Jones and Majcher defeated Jason Hanschmann and Wayne at No. 2, and Cayo and Soloand defeated Schwartz and Levine at No. 3.
