Talk on women and heart disease set April 12

10:05 a.m., March 21, 2006--UD's Employee Wellness Center will sponsor a lunchtime workshop on "Women and Heart Disease" from noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, in 123 Memorial Hall.

Dr. Robin Horn, a board-certified cardiologist for Cardiology Consultants, will discuss how heart disease affects women differently from men, how lifestyle habits can help prevent heart disease and how treatments and technology have advanced to save lives.

“This is such an important topic, and there are so many myths out there--every female on campus would benefit from attending this presentation,” Marianne Carter, director of UD's Employee Wellness Center, said.

Cost is 10 Wellness Dollars, and early registration is encouraged. Attendees will have a chance to win a door prize of a haircut and finish by Michael Christopher at his salon in Wilmington, a $100 value.
