Newark Police seek suspect in shooting

12 p.m., March 29, 2006--Newark Police are seeking a Patrick Henry Court resident following a shotgun shooting in the community at 7:56 p.m., Tuesday, March 28.

Police have identified the suspect as Joshua Dryden, 28, of 7 Patrick Henry Court. He is facing charges of assault in the first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited from having a firearm.

Police said Dryden got into an altercation with another Patrick Henry Court resident and shot the victim with a shotgun, then fled. The victim went to a neighbor's house, where he called for help and was admitted to Christiana Hospital with a wound to his right arm.
