11:37 a.m., March 20, 2006--Newark Police are investigating a hit and run incident in which a young woman was struck and injured by a motor vehicle at 2:24 a.m., Saturday, March 18, in the 100 block of East Cleveland Avenue.

The victim, a 21-year-old from Rehoboth Beach, was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound and described as a green Honda Civic. The car had Delaware tags with the first four digits of 2050, and was driven by a man. The car's passenger side mirror broke off when it hit the victim but the driver continued westbound without stopping.

The victim was transported to the emergency room at Christiana Hospital, where she was treated for a broken arm and lacerations.
