Nursing spring lecture series set 9 a.m., March 6, 2006--UD's College of Health Sciences is sponsoring a spring lecture series featuring guest speakers from the universities of Maryland and Pennsylvania. The lectures will focus on new research developments in the medical field. All lectures, which are free and open to members of the University community, will take place from 10-11 a.m., Tuesdays, in 222 McDowell Hall. The following lectures are scheduled: "End of Life Care in the ICU," by Debra Lynn-McHale Wiegand, assistant professor, University of Maryland school of nursing, Tuesday, March 7; "Molecular Mechanisms of Neuronal Death in Animal Models: Implications for Alzheimer's Disease," by Susan G. Dorsey, assistant professor, University of Maryland school of nursing, Tuesday, April 4; and "Bio-behavioral Determinants of Adolescent Smoking Progression," by Janet Audrian-McGovern, assistant professor of psychology, University of Pennsylvania, Tuesday, May 9. The series is supported by a National Institutes of Health grant in the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence program of the National Center for Research Resources.
