Sigma Chi chapter wins six regional awards

4:54 p.m., March 14, 2006--Kappa Epsilon, UD's chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity, received six outstanding performance awards at Sigma Chi's Eastern Province Conference and Brothers Day Banquet held Saturday, Feb. 25, at American University in Washington, D.C. The Eastern Conference includes chapters in Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland and Delaware.

Kappa Epsilon won for the most outstanding chapter, president, financial management, membership development, magazine submission and ritual presentation in the Eastern Province.

The fraternity has received a gold ranking for three consecutive semesters by UD's chapter assessment program.

Brian Slater, chapter president, said, “The awards can be attributed to the dedication of the entire brotherhood. There is a very high standard being upheld by the Greek community at the University of Delaware, and the brotherhood understands the high standards we must achieve. In my three years in the fraternity, I have never seen the brotherhood act as such a cohesive unit. Everyone is on the same page working towards the same goals.”
