FSAP offers lunchtime seminars, support groups

3:42 p.m., March 20, 2006--UD's Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is offering lunchtime seminars for employees on new skills, creative approaches and renewal issues. The seminar schedule is listed below.

Prepare to Care: Caring for an Ill or Elderly Loved One, noon-1 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, in the Collins Room, will give tips on what caregivers can expect, what to do and how to find the necessary community resources. Joyce Shores, coordinator of the Caregiver Resource Center, will deliver the lecture.

Understanding Adolescence, noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, in the Collins Room, will examine adolescents from puberty to adulthood and how to help children bridge one of the most difficult periods of growth. Attendees will benefit from support from other parents and tips on how to reduce stress. Yvonne Nass, instructor from Parent Education Consulting Services, will give the lecture.

Effective Coparenting, noon-1 p.m., Thursday, May 11, in the Collins Room, will explore how to coparent effectively, avoid playing “pain games” and how to maintain a productive partnership while going through a divorce. Yvonne Nass, instructor from Parent Education Consulting Services, will deliver the lecture.

Staying Positive When Life is Full of Lemons is a support group to encourage participants to be hopeful and joyful when living with chronic illness.
