Delaware Geographic Bee at UD Friday 3:45 p.m., March 29, 2006--Across the United States and U.S. Territories, young geography experts, grades four through eight, will participate in state level Geographic Bees on Friday, March 31. The Delaware Geographic Bee will be held from 12:30-4:15 p.m. in the Clayton Hall Conference Center, with more than 65 participants. Margaret Legates, coordinator of the Delaware Geographic Alliance, which promotes geographic education in the state, will welcome the students. Several faculty and staff members from the geography department will act as judges and assist with the bee. The winner will receive $100, a National Geographic globe and all-expense trip to the National Geographic Bee, May 23 and 24, at National Geographic's headquarters in Washington, D.C. The bee is organized by the National Geographic Society and sponsored by JP Morgan Chase. |
