Northeastern sweeps UD in CAA baseball series 9:56 a.m., March 27, 2006--The Northeastern University baseball team swept a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against the homestanding University of Delaware this weekend. Northeastern won 3-0 on Friday, 5-2 on Saturday and 11-0 on Sunday. With the losses, the Fightin' Blue Hens fell to 10-10 overall and 0-6 in the CAA. The Hens will return to action with a game against the University of Maryland Baltimore County at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Bob Hannah Stadium. They will then travel to Towson University for a three-game conference series March 31-April 2. In Friday's loss, rightfielder Dan Richardson had two of UD's four hits. Richardson had a double and a run scored on Saturday, and both Alex Buchholz and Brandon Menchaca had two hits apiece. In Sunday's loss, the Hens again managed just four hits, with Richardson and Menchaca collecting doubles. |
