Albert V. Moore
 

4:09 p.m., June 2, 2006--Albert V. Moore, 92, of Fair Hill, Md., died Dec. 5.

Born Nov. 10, 1913, in Providence, Md., he was the son of the late Edward and Emma Scarborough Moore.

As a young man, Mr. Moore had worked for Providence Paper Mill and then at the William duPont estate in Fair Hill. He retired from the University of Delaware.

Mr. Moore was a member of Rock Presbyterian Church for more than 80 years. He also was a member of Singerly Fire Company, Elkton, Md., and the Cecil County Historical Society, where he was known as a great historian, specializing in the Providence and Elkton areas.

For many years, Mr. Moore had been superintendent of Sharps Cemetery in Fairhill.

Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by nine siblings and his wife of 68 years, Ruth Mackie Moore.

A funeral service was held Dec. 8, at Rock Presbyterian Church, Fair Hill, Md. Burial was in Sharps Cemetery, Fair Hill.
